Swedish Massage is the most popular type of massage in the United States. It is a full body massage that involves the use of the therapist's hands, forearms, or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of muscles through gliding, kneading, tapping, friction, compression, and/or vibration strokes. Swedish massage increases blood and lymph circulation, relaxes the muscles and the mind, decreases stress and muscle tension, and improves range of motion.
Lymphatic massage is a gentle, soothing massage that uses gliding strokes and light compression strokes applied in the direction of lymph flow toward the heart. The fluid in the lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from the bodily tissues. Lymphatic massage supports the lymphatic system and can help reduce the buildup of fluids and improve circulation throughout the lymphatic system. It is a light pressure massage that promotes health and relaxation and can be enjoyed by and benefit most everyone.
Chair massage is a 10 to 30 minute, clothing-on massage that focuses on the back, neck, and shoulders, with some attention to the arms, hands, and scalp. It is a relaxing light to medium pressure massage that works well when time is limited or the use of oils and removal of clothing is not desired or not possible.
