"Although a family member of mine raves about the results he receives from Laura Holt of Laurel Tree, it wasn't until they gifted me a gift card that I was able to form my own opinion of the quality of Laura's work.
I chose to redeem my gift card on my 30th birthday, and admittedly felt a mix of anxiousness and excitement about going for my first-ever massage of any type.
Prior to going to my appointment, Laura touched base to consult with me on what I was looking for in a massage, and she actively listened to me as I described the daily aches and pains I struggle with--primarily in my neck and shoulder areas. Laura described and explained the services she offers, and she suggested I select an hour of the SRT (Structural Relief Therapy) that she recently incorporated into her menu of services. I loved that she didn't make me feel pressured and allowed me to make the final decision.
Being that I am a curious soul, I went with Laura'a suggestion of the SRT, which is not at all like a traditional massage---and that was definitely ok with me for a first timer, as my self-consciousness was not keen on baring any skin.....but, as an important side note, I cannot stress enough that Laura provides a very safe, comfortable and relaxing environment that has eased my anxiety for future visits!
On the day of my appointment, I arrived a bit early but Laura greeted me at the door with a warm smile and got the ball rolling. Laura communicated with me every single step of the way while she worked on retraining my muscles and she, most importantly, LISTENED to me and ensured I was comfortable and that I felt respected. I felt like the only client of the day, the way that her positive energy flowed to me.
I live in Farmingdale, but the travel to Skowhegan to see Laura was, and will continue to be, worth every mile and minute.
I encourage beginners and oldies to give Laurel Tree Massage a try...and while you could opt for half an hour, I can confidently assure you that you will wish you had booked at least an hour!!"
